Meet Nikki
Nikki Restauri, M.D.
I am one part teacher, one part medicine woman, and the other third a combination of cowgirl and poet with just a sprinkle of rebel on top, you know, for color and flavor. I am a seeker and a path weaver who has discovered through a 20- year journey across the barren territory of western medicine how to heal the wounds of a corporate wasteland.
Soul is a kind of
wild medicine.
I believe in mythology, as much as in science, and I believe Truth and Courage are ambassadors of the soul and that the SOUL IS DIVINE FIRE. Soul is the inner sun that warms the world and, in my own recovery from burnout, I have come to know that the SOUL IS A KIND OF WILD MEDICINE. Within each of us there is a flame that must be nurtured, protected from the winds of the world, and kindled at all cost. Soul is the rounded edges of life, it is found in the sacrament of a quiet morning, SOUL IS THE WORD NO, it is a good story, laughter and it whispers to us in the form of awe and wonder that comes with watching steam rise from an alpine lake.
Tending the soul is never easy and the modern world so often tricks us into losing our way. Like moths to a false flame, fatigued and searching, we are easily lulled into complacency, numbed with constant pings of distraction and the abundant platters of addiction and consumption so readily served up by mass culture. Yet, we are always longing, yearning toward wholeness, reaching for remembrance and integrity, softly aware of a flickering voice, an ember, calling us to right action.
